Why I Don't Comment On Your Blog

HELP! I'M IN SPAM AND I CAN'T GET OUT!!! (Source)

Do you ever have trouble leaving comments on other people's blogs?

I have been so frustrated in the last few months,
because when I try to leave comments on some of the blogs I love,
they disappear into thin cyberspace air,
never to be seen; never to be read.

This has been driving me crazy!
I surely don't want the wonderful bloggers I've come to admire,
to think that I've dropped off the face of the blogosphere...
or worse...that I don't care enough to leave a comment.

I've done some research, and I think I have FINALLY figured out the problem.
Unfortunately, I can't fix it...only you can do that.

It seems that somehow,
I've been pegged as "spam" by some blog hosts.
I don't have any problem with those who use Blogger,
but I do know that some Wordpress blogs are blocking my comments.
Once I'm considered a "spammer" (oh, the humilation!),
it tells other blogs to consider me spam.
The list of blogs that I can't comment on keeps growing,
so I assume this is true.

Considering that Ms. Toody Goo Shoes is a "Miss Goody Two Shoes",
it's distressing that my reputation has been tarnished :)

Here's how you can help -
Please check your Spam folders and see if you can find a comment from me.  Click "Not Spam" (or whatever it says).
Everyone I have asked to do this
has restored me as a non-spamming commenter.
Perhaps you'll find other bloggers in there, too.

Thank you for your help
I'm looking forward to leaving you comments again soon.

  1. What a bother for you! You are definitely not SPAM, but one of the wittiest bloggers out there!

  2. Oh no you are certainly not SPAM!!!! I use blogger and get your comments so it is all good here. I love when you visit and take time to leave a comment. Hope the blogger's that are blocking you with Spam can fix that.

  4. Hi, Amy. I know your posts come up under promotions in my Gmail...however, I have learned which to go to and which not, but I did give up on trying to comment on one of your posts? Very wierd. Can you separate yourself from wordpress---as I have a mac and it apparently doesn't like that...or I'm have also one of those mystery settings? Very frustrating. Also--not your site, but quite a few 'pro' bloggers here, have so much advertising and so many pop-ups and live links on their opening page...that it grinds my comp to a halt. Hope it improves for everyone soon. Thanks for the mail, Sandi

  5. So happy for you that you have somewhat figured it out. That has been happening to me too! One blogger that I followed switched to Wordpress and I was promptly dropped. Can't get to her at all. My biggest problem is the comment sections that use Google with the blue person in the circle.....I cannot comment on those at all and there are a few blogs that I really want to. Not sure that is a spam problem. Last week I had to rescue one of my favorite bloggers from my spam file...how did she get in there? So frustrating.

  6. It has been very frustrating lately. I take the time to write out a comment then I'm told I have to be a member or sign in or like you, my message disappears. I like leaving comments even if it's just to say hi but holy cow I've wasted so much time not getting through.

I'll have to check my spam to make sure I'm not blocking anyone. Thanks for letting us know the problem.

    Best wishes, Darlene

  7. That is one more reason I like blogger and will stay with it....I see so many people that switch to WP and lose their followers and comments! Kind of disheartening. xo Diana

  8. Well your comments come through fine on the low carb diabetic blog - always good to receive, read and share your comments.

What I find sometimes is that a comment goes through more than once - I still haven't worked that one out. I guess it's just a computer glitch!

Hope your week is going well.

    All the best Jan

  17. I don't know if you were having problems on my blog, but I know that a number of other people were. I have to approve a comment before it's posted, but their comments weren't even making it into my email. I have no idea what's going on. I'm hoping that changing to Disqus will help, but I know that's a bother for some who don't want to register.

  18. Hi Amy, I seem to be having this same problem with leaving comments on Wordpress blogs lately. I do not know how to fix this and it's really frustrating for me too. Did the problem resolve for you or is it still happening. If you have any suggestions or info on what to do to fix this problem please let me know.
    Thanks Julie
